Colli di Jesi

The historical Colli di Jesi (Hills of Jesi) are located a few Km from the Adriatic sea and present gentle and fertile slopes cultivated with vineyards and olive tree groves. The soil is compact with a mixture of limestone and clay. This is the Verdicchio DOC area — Verdicchio is one of the few recognised truly Italian grape varieties —, whose grapes benefit from a Mediterranean climate with an interesting thermal excursion between day and night.

Vineyard

“La Boccolina” estate is owned by Spinazzè and spreads along the slopes that lead to Maiolati Spontini in the Province of Ancona. Besides Verdicchio grapes, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris grape varieties are cultivated in the lower hills; red grapes of Montepulciano, Merlot and Cabernet are planted in the upper hills. The whole estate is in conversion to organic farming. The vine training system is spurred cordon, harvest is carried out mainly by hand. The farm also produces Extra Virgin Olive Oil obtained from 3 hectares of olive tree groves.
